My Profile
I find laughter yoga a powerful way to relax the mind, energise the body and open people to an experience of genuine relaxed authenticity and mutual acceptance with surprisingly little effort. My work since 2003 has been in bringing mindfulness to the workplace in a format and language that supports effectiveness and wellbeing. When I realised what was happening in the laughter yoga sessions, it made sense to link it to mindfulness._x000D_

I stumbled across Laughter Yoga in the 80's and with a natural love of comedy theatre it captured my imagination. My first experience was in Singapore, on East Coast Park at 0745am one Saturday morning in 2003. Afterwards I walked away giggling and noticing how glum people appeared in comparison to the lightness, mutual acceptance and joy I'd just experienced. Whilst running a university inter-religious dialogue and meditation centre in Washington DC I had the opportunity to attend as a Laughter Yoga Leader course and started running regular sessions. Some years later, curious to meet Dr Kataria, I signed up for a program in India with him. It wasn't until I got there I realised it was a LY Trainer program! I was inspired by the transformation he had undergone and the sincerity and depth of authenticity it had brought him to. Since then I've been running LY Leader trainings in Singapore. In June 2017 I returned home to UK._x000D_

In terms of my background, I lived in Singapore and Malaysia as a child. My first career was serving in the British Army. In 1994 I joined the John Lewis Partnership for 6 years. In 2000 I returned to Singapore and dedicated my efforts to corporate mindfulness, theatre, a mindfulness professionals network, Eckhart Tolle group, HeartMath biofeedback programs and coaching. Now in UK I'm open to sharing LY and welcome exploring how it might support groups and organisations.
