My Profile
My name is Shifra , and I’m a laugher yoga Master Trainer, trained directly by the founder Dr. Madan Kataria.
The first time I was exposed to laughter yoga was in 2006, and after that session, I realized that not only did I speak positive emotions, but did. Laughter connected me to action, faith, health, liberation, creativity and optimism.
I laughed a lot when I was a child. When my sisters were born, I soon became a “little mom” for them and the little girl in me was a bit gone. Over the years, I got married and had 4 children. Both my husband and my children are the greatest teachers of my life. Why? Because being a wife, mother, wife is a lot of stress. The desire to be the best. The most effective and the most deserving. It’s to work at home, and work outside the home. Take care of everyone, and I found myself worrying less and less …. Whatever it was, it’s the nerves. I found myself screaming and not laughing. I realized that if I continued down this path, I would lose my family, and so I began my search for my journey inside.
I have learned many courses to achieve balance in my life: parent empowerment. Guiding children. personal trainer. I studied yoga, Reiki, Kabbalah, Judaism, brain training, meditations …. I took them all seriously, but was missing something …. I wanted to fill myself with the most joy. Then it happened ….. I missed a standup performance. I searched for another gig online and a laughing yoga club volunteered for the community. It took me 3 weeks to convince a company to come with me for an activity. When we arrived, we saw a group of people standing, looking at each other in the eyes and releasing sounds of laughter for no reason. I was in shock. Why? Because I’ve been used to laughing at jokes, movies, standups all my life, but for no reason it seemed like I had come to a crazy house. Also, I am very much in control, have to understand everything, like many women. In the first few minutes, I laughed but checked my judgment of myself was very high. After fifteen minutes, I decided to let go and then the girl in me broke out, and I had fun.
When I got home, I felt something was happening to my body. I was tired of growing up with someone …. probably growing up with my logic …. lol. I always knew that laughter was healthy. We in Judaism say “a great commandment to always be happy.” This is a commandment in our Torah. I knew that if I smiled more, they would smile more at me. But knowing that is not enough. need to do. That night I laughed. I did! That’s the big difference between humans. Most of us talk and less do. Because I wanted to understand more and more of what was happening to my body, I attended a laughter yoga week after week. Every time I came back with a good feeling. One day I was also able to take my husband to the club. Seeing him laugh, I realized that I wanted to add the laughter yoga theme to my toolbox.
Good things I always share with others. I decided to share yoga laughter with everyone. I studied laughter yoga training with Dr. Ute Lement in 2006, and became a laughter yoga leader. On my business card was the headline “Trainer for a Healthier and Happy Life” I realized that when I laugh with others I laugh more at my body, mind and spirit, and I began to laugh with groups of seniors, women, children, religious and secular. Arabs and Jews.
In 2007, I flew to Palma de Mallorca in Spain, becoming a teacher of laughter yoga. I learned directly from Dr. Kataria, the founder of yoga laughter movement. Trained by me over 500 laughter yoga leaders who lead laughter yoga as part of their work, and into their life. Because entrepreneurship and practice are part of me, I introduced the topic to the Ministry of education in Israel.
For almost ten years, I have been teaching teachers “empowerment through humor, laughter and joy in education and life.” 60-hour process courses. This process works significantly. It’s a healing process. I teach them tools for personal work and with students. The tools include: laughter yoga, games, music, emotional intelligence and more ….. I travel the length and breadth of the country every day, and my goal is for people to fulfill themselves in this goodness, and from there we can truly give. When we are full we give in love. When we are empty we give in sacrifice.
It is important for me to go into gray frames and put life there. The laughter is life. The Israeli Ministry of Education embraces me and also a university. I am the coordinator of a medical clown course and training laughter yoga instructors at a university in Israel for close to a decade. Great right to open people. At the same time as process courses, laughter yoga is very common in Israel, and I work with high-tech groups, with welfare groups. Children and the elderly. Arabs and Jews. men and women. Religious and secular. Every week, I run a laughing yoga club volunteering for the community.
I believe my saying that we all deserve to be happy, but joy is our responsibility alone. Every year, I choose to volunteer for about a month in Israel or around the world. Fill myself and rest. Disconnect from the usual place / family / home and volunteer without commitment. Some of my volunteering trips were in Mexico, in Wachaca County. A place that suffers from earthquakes. I laughed there with the local population and volunteers on the team.
I’ve been to Greece twice, in Lesbos. At a peace school. I have worked with the staff and children from many countries, such as Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Congo and Afghanistan. A great sense of satisfaction to see how laughter connects, releases and heals. I am a member of the Laughter Yoga Association in Israel. Organizes, produces and executes training courses and conferences for facilitators in Israel. One-day events, and more. I am an inspiration to many of the facilitators that everything is possible through yoga laughter.
