My Profile

My professional career has focused on creating and implementing innovative policies and services for vulnerable and often marginalized members of society. For many years I worked on developing and supporting community elder abuse prevention and intervention programs. I also have directed a nonprofit, elder service organization whose mission is to support community based opportunities and programs for frail seniors and their family caregivers. Most recently, I directed a non-profit organization that addresses health care access issues in rural Vermont. During the past four years, I have earned certification as both a Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher. I currently provide Laughter Yoga sessions, presentations and trainings for elders, health care professionals and the community at large. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Speech Pathology/Audiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a master’s degree in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. I have written many essays for LaughterYoga.org. See https://laughteryoga.org/lyblogs/fran-joseph to learn more about my Laughter Yoga experiences. Look forward to hearing from you.
